Lesson Information

PRIVATE LESSON INFORMATION 

Private lessons with Madison are held once a week (online or in-person at her home) and are individually tailored to students’ needs, goals and musical learning. In addition to weekly lessons, all students participate in a 45 minute studio class regularly and recitals three times a year.

METHODOLOGY:

All lessons at the studio are designed using a wide variety of music methodologies including Suzuki, Kodaly, Dalcroze, Orff, solfege and others. As a versatile musician herself, Madison is adamant about teaching students to be more than just performers. She teaches students to be well-rounded musicians, kind to themselves and others, as well as historically/culturally aware. Students will learn to create, perform, respond, and connect to music – which means they will often sing, compose, and dance in addition to playing their instrument. 

METHOD BOOKS:

Students will use several method books to become excellent musicians. Madison does extensive research to find the best books for each student, which has led her to collect a serious library

AGES:

Madison accepts violin and viola students ages 5 and older, preferably students who are able to recognize the letters of the alphabet and have basic reading skills. Parents are always welcome to attend every lesson. For students under 10,  Madison requests that a parent attend every lesson with their child. It will help the student learn much more throughout the week with an informed parent at home to assist them. 

PRICING:

Lessons are charged once a month on the first day of the month through Venmo or Zelle.

30 minute lessons – $30 – Best for beginner students who are in books 1-2 of their method books and practicing 15-20 minutes a day.

45 minute lessons– $40 – Best for intermediate students who are practicing 20+ minutes a day.

60 minute lessons– $50- Best for advanced students who are practicing 45+ minutes a day.
